Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Injivo, Inc., a California corporation ("InGiro", "we", "us" or "our"), collects, uses, shares and keeps personal information when you use the InGiro app and the ingiro.co website (together, the "Services"). It also explains the choices and rights you have.
Summary
- InGiro is for adults 18 and older. We ask for your birthdate, ask you to confirm you're 18 or older, and may use the age answer your app store provides.
- You choose what you're open to: Friends, Activities, Dating, or any mix. We only ask who you'd like to date if you turn Dating on, and we only use that answer for Dating.
- People meet you in one mode at a time. Someone who meets you in Friends doesn't see whether you also use Dating, or your dating details.
- Location is required, and others only see an approximate distance. We round your location to an area of roughly 1 km before anyone else sees anything.
- Photos must follow our rules. Explicit photos aren't allowed and are removed.
- No ads, no selling. There is no advertising in InGiro, and we don't sell your personal information.
- You're in control. Edit your profile and what you're open to, hide your profile (Snooze), and delete your account in the app.
Who we are and how to contact us
The Services are operated by Injivo, Inc., 1968 S. Coast Hwy #5994, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, United States.
- Email: support@ingiro.co
- Privacy requests: email us with "Privacy request" in the subject line.
Who the Services are for
InGiro is only for adults aged 18 and older, and is currently offered in the United States.
- When you sign up you enter your birthdate and confirm that you are 18 or older. If your birthdate shows you are under 18, or you tell us you are under 18, your account is closed.
- On some devices and in some places (for example where state law requires app stores to share age information), your Apple App Store or Google Play account may tell us whether you are 18 or older. We receive only that answer, not your birthdate. If your app store says you are under 18, your account is paused and hidden until it shows that you are 18.
- If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we close it. If you believe a minor is using InGiro, please report the profile in the app or email us.
Information we collect
Account and sign-in information
You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and password. Sign-in is provided by Google Firebase Authentication. Depending on the method you choose, we receive your email address and an account identifier from Apple or Google. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
Profile information
To create a profile, you provide:
- your first name and birthdate (other people see your age, not your birthdate)
- your gender or identity
- what you're open to: Friends, Activities and/or Dating
- at least one photo
- your location (see "Location")
Only if you turn Dating on: who you'd like to date (required for Dating) and what you're looking for (optional).
You can also choose to add interests (up to 10), an "about me" text, your job, answers to prompts (text, voice recordings or photos), and other optional profile details. For optional details you can choose whether they're shown on your profile.
Who sees what
Other members see your profile in the mode they meet you in:
- In Friends or Activities: your name, age, approximate distance, city (if shown), photos, interests, about me, job, non-dating prompts and the details you made visible. They do not see whether you also use Dating, who you'd like to date, your dating goal, your first-date idea or prompts marked dating-only.
- In Dating: the above plus your dating goal, first-date idea and dating prompts. Who you'd like to date is never shown; it decides who you're shown to.
Sensitive information
Some information is sensitive under privacy laws:
- who you'd like to date (Dating only), which can reveal your sexual orientation
- optional details you choose to add, such as ethnicity, religion or political views
- your precise device location (see "Location")
- the contents of your messages
- verification selfies
We use sensitive information only to provide the features you ask for. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to infer characteristics about you. Optional details can be removed at any time. If you turn Dating off, we keep your dating preferences privately so you can turn Dating back on, until you delete your account.
Location
InGiro is built around meeting people near you, so location permission is required.
- What we collect: while you use the app, your device's location (accuracy of about 100 metres) and the city name your phone's built-in map service returns for it. The app doesn't use your location in the background.
- How we store it: before your location is saved, we round it to an area of roughly 1 km and add a small fixed offset, so your exact position isn't stored.
- What others see: a distance in whole kilometres or miles, and your city if you allow it. Nobody sees your coordinates.
- Your controls: you can turn off Nearby visibility or Snooze your profile in the app at any time.
Any service that shows distance can, in some circumstances, be used to estimate roughly where someone is. Use the visibility controls if this is a concern for you.
Connections, likes and messages
- Likes and passes are kept per mode (a pass in Friends doesn't hide someone in Activities).
- Ciaooo! (a like that shows who sent it): when you send one, we keep a record of who sent it to whom, in which mode, when, and whether it was a free, Plus or purchased one, so it can only be sent once per person. The record is deleted when either account is erased.
- Message requests, conversations, messages, photos and voice notes are stored so we can deliver them. Each conversation keeps the mode it started in. The person you're chatting with can see what you send, and may save or copy it outside the app.
- We count how many likes and requests you send to apply daily limits.
- A message request nobody answers expires after 30 days and leaves both inboxes; we keep a note of it for 30 more days so the same request isn't sent again right away.
Purchases
InGiro Plus subscriptions and Ciaooo! packs are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat tells us what you bought and whether a subscription is active. We never receive your card details.
Safety, reports and abuse prevention
- Reports and blocks. If you report or block someone, or someone reports you, we keep the report, the reason, any comment, whether you also blocked, and the mode it happened in, so our team can review it.
- Rate limits. We limit how often an account can use features like Nearby, to prevent people from collecting profiles in bulk.
Device, usage, crash and notification information
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to record usage events, such as which screens are viewed and actions like likes or matches. These events are linked to an internal account ID and never include the content of your messages, your profile details or your location. Advertising features are turned off. Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports so we can fix problems. We also receive basic technical information such as device type, operating system, app version and IP address when your device connects to our servers.
If you allow notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (and the Apple Push Notification service on iPhone), which requires a device token. Message previews are off by default: notifications then never show a name, text, photo or mode. You can change notification types and previews in the app's settings.
Features that run on your iPhone
On supported iPhones, you can translate a message or get help writing with Apple's built-in features. These run on your device or are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. InGiro doesn't receive or store translations, and nothing you draft is sent to us until you choose to send or save it.
This website
The ingiro.co website doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use information
- Provide the Services: create and secure your account, show your profile, show you people in the modes you chose, show shared interests and distance, Nearby, deliver messages and notifications, and provide the features you've purchased. Shared-interest hints compare your interests with another member's and show only the ones you both listed; we don't score compatibility or infer anything else.
- Keep people safe: check ages, review photos and reports, verify profiles, enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and prevent fraud, spam, scraping and abuse.
- Keep the Services working: fix crashes and bugs, understand how features are used, and improve the app.
- Communicate with you: respond to support and privacy requests and send service messages.
- Meet legal obligations: comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
Photo moderation, verification and child safety
Photo review. Explicit photos aren't allowed on InGiro. Photos may be checked automatically by a moderation service and reviewed by our team, and photos that break our rules are removed.
Verification. Verification is optional. If you choose to verify, you take a live selfie doing a pose we request, and our team compares it to your profile photos. The verification selfie is used only for verification and is not shown on your profile. We don't use face recognition to identify you.
Child safety. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material. We remove it, close the accounts involved, and report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by US law.
If you think a moderation decision about you was wrong, contact us.
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as described here.
With other members
Your profile, approximate distance, your city (if shown), and the messages and content you send are visible to the people you interact with, in the mode you meet them in.
With service providers
We use service providers that process personal information on our behalf and under our instructions:
- Supabase: database, file storage and app backend (United States)
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud: sign-in, notifications, app analytics and crash reports
- RevenueCat: purchase and subscription status
- Apple and Google: app stores, in-app purchases, sign-in, app-store age information, and the city lookup for your location
- Cloudflare: domain, email routing and security for our website
- Photo moderation provider: if we use an automated moderation service, it checks photos for explicit content on our behalf
For legal and safety reasons
We may preserve and disclose information if we believe in good faith that it's necessary to comply with law or legal process, to report to NCMEC or law enforcement, to enforce our terms, or to protect the safety, rights or property of our members, the public or InGiro.
Advertising, selling and sharing
There is no advertising in the InGiro app or on our website. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this Privacy Policy first.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States.
How long we keep information
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Account and profile (including what you're open to, interests and per-mode filters) | While your account is open |
| After you delete your account | Your profile is hidden immediately. About 30 days later we erase your profile, photos, prompts, verification selfies, messages you sent, likes and passes, Ciaooo! records (sent and received), request history, location, preferences (including dating preferences) and sign-in details. |
| Accounts with an open safety review | Kept until the review ends, generally within 12 months of the last report |
| Reports, blocks, moderation decisions and ban records | Kept for safety so we can enforce our rules; not linked to your profile details after your account is erased; ban records are stored as hashed identifiers |
| Purchase records | As long as needed for accounting and tax |
| Crash reports | Up to 90 days |
Messages you sent may stay visible to the people you sent them to if they saved or copied them.
Your choices
- Profile and modes: edit your profile and what you're open to in the app. Turning a mode off hides you from new introductions in that mode; existing chats stay open, and you can still unmatch or block.
- Visibility: Snooze hides your profile from Discover and Nearby in every mode and quiets notifications. You can also turn off Nearby visibility and "Show my city", and use Incognito with InGiro Plus.
- Notifications: choose notification types and previews in the app, or turn notifications off in your device settings.
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Settings > Delete account, or see Delete your account. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription bought through Apple or Google; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to appeal a decision we make about your request.
California
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know and access the personal information we collect, use and disclose; to delete and correct it; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we don't sell or share it); to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to provide the Services you request); and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that you authorized them.
How to make a request
Email support@ingiro.co with "Privacy request" in the subject line. To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm details linked to it before we act on access, deletion or correction requests. To appeal a decision, reply to our decision or email us with "Privacy appeal" in the subject line. We respond within the time the law requires.
California notice at collection
We collect these categories of personal information about California residents from you, your device and our service providers. We don't sell or share any of them, and we keep them as described in "How long we keep information".
- Identifiers (email, account IDs, IP address, device token): account, sign-in, security, notifications, support.
- Personal characteristics (name, birthdate/age, gender; optional ethnicity, religion and political views): profile, age checks, introductions.
- Sensitive personal information (what you're open to; only with Dating, who you'd like to date, which may reveal sexual orientation; optional ethnicity, religion and political views; precise geolocation; login credentials; message contents; verification selfies): providing the features you request, age checks, safety, security, message delivery.
- Commercial information (purchases and subscription status): paid features, accounting, disputes.
- Internet or network activity (app usage events, crash reports): fixing problems, improving the Services.
- Geolocation (device location stored rounded to about 1 km; city name): distance, your city and nearby people.
- Audio and visual information (photos, voice recordings, verification selfies): profile, messaging, verification, moderation.
- Inferences: none drawn for profiling or advertising.
Security
We use measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, rounding of stored locations, and rate limits against bulk collection. No system is 100% secure. Please keep your sign-in details private and report anything suspicious to us. If the law requires us to tell you about a security incident affecting your information, we will.
Third-party services
When you sign in with Apple or Google or buy through the App Store or Google Play, those companies handle your information under their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll let you know in the app or by other appropriate means before it takes effect.
