Most people on InGiro are here to meet good company. These tips help you stay safe, whether you're meeting a new friend, an activity partner or a date. If you are ever in immediate danger, call 911.

InGiro does not run criminal background checks on members, and we can't confirm everything people say about themselves. Trust your instincts.

Before you meet

• Keep the chat in InGiro until you feel comfortable. You can block and report from the app at any time.
• Protect personal details. Don't share your home or work address, daily routine, or financial information with someone you haven't met.
• Never send money. No matter the story, never send money, gift cards, crypto or investments to someone you met on InGiro. Report anyone who asks.
• Look for verified profiles and do a little research: a quick video call can confirm someone is who they say they are.
• Take your time. You don't owe anyone a meeting. A pass, a decline or no reply is always okay.

When you meet

• Meet in a public place with other people around, like a café, park or class. Not at your home or theirs.
• Tell a friend who you're meeting, where and when, and check in with them during and after.
• Get there and back on your own and stay in control of when you leave.
• Keep your phone charged and your belongings with you.
• Watch your drink and limits. Stay clear-headed, and don't leave food or drinks unattended.
• Leave if you feel uncomfortable. You don't need a reason.

Consent and respect

Consent is required for any physical or sexual activity, can be withdrawn at any time, and can't be given by someone who is impaired. Respect other people's boundaries, and expect them to respect yours.

Report problems

Report anyone who breaks our Community Guidelines, asks for money, seems to be under 18, or makes you feel unsafe: open their profile or your chat and tap Report. Reports are confidential. After an incident, you can also contact the police and keep any messages or photos as evidence.
